the urban pop summer bangaz chart

1) beyonce / jay-z - deja vu boy you hurtin that! i did a poll and it turns out everyone ive ever known loves it. sounds astoundingly good on radio. lots to enjoy at various moments of the day, to illustrate i made this mini-diary!

8am - golly gosh! i'm all awoken by the audacity of beyonce cutting the beat for beginning of second verse elongated SEEEEEEEING, positively messing with my piss stream

12am - thoughtful midday facelift eating his blueberries notes the way she brings a SEXY SURPRISE angry b attack for the final chorus, no one has ever ever been better at finding that 2nd phase overdub killer note

5pm - jay-z eh? i caught that 'now i run the bass hi hat and the snare' line coming out of a car and thought, ehh cool! i hope if he ever performs this and ?uestlove or, i dont know, tico torres is in the front row then jay will wink at them in broad fashion BECAUSE THEY ARE DRUMMERS FOR GOD'S SAKE

1am - ok i am a lil bit tired of the shit now! i wonder if solo b has a we belong together or a be without you in her, something emotionally satisfying with 1,000 different phrasings where you can eat up every line and have it be your best friend. good as deja vu is i dont think i can face 5 more decreasingly catchy mid tempo nothings like "me myself and i" PLEASE

2) p diddy / nicole pcd - come to me
it's the hot new entry! it was played several times on friday and i was like, ...this is amazing and i dont know why???!!! on the surface a perfectly amiable summer beat vaguely reffing aaliyah's "rock the boat" and er drag-on's secret amelodic noise classic "tell ya friends", but with a vast ocean of something or other reflected in its soundpupils.

hard to predict how it will manage on playlists but djs seem to almost surprise themselves with their own excitement that diddy is back doing proper music. thank god felix da housekat finally released him from that contract.

also worth mentioning, tho it has undoubtedly been said b4, NICOLE IS A STAR! pcd are fine and everything but why was she ever required to lead them to launch a career?? i spose someone might have mistook her for a no-mark like tori alamaze? i blame our hypersexualized society!

3) lily allen - smile great song made better by actually going to number one! feels like no track has been played more in every shop ever since "these words". rtc claims to hate this shit but somehow contrives to talk about her every day of his damn life and stalk her around london! prominent l allen scholar lil missy HAD THIS TO SAY:

'i saw a girl on the bus in brighton and she was wearing massive gold hoop earrings and a lilac tank top with bright pink bra straps showing, and i thought, that girl is working the lily look! and i was mad jellis because i could never rock that look.

lily is bloody cool, she's like, i'm quite a fuck off person, so i'm glad to be chubby. i love how she rocks vintage dresses with big white trainers. i don't like the acid green eyeshadow though. that is not a good look, especially on white girls.

'smile' is playing in every shop, ever. i went to get tacos and they were playing smile. the salsa was so good! and a soft taco was less than two squid!

lily's mixtapes are the best because you get all her songs and westwood style gunshots and g unit stuff.'

4) busta / kelis / will.i.am - i love my chickbitch busta's album may be toss but this is a solid anthem! i think my fav thing about it is having two big stars doing two entirely separate guest hooks, going well beyond the call of hook duty. a visibly shaken lil missy once again had SOMETHING TO SAY:

''she ain't scared of the dick'

this song is cute! i miss hip hop love songs. i had a huge crush on ja rule back in the day, when he'd do his thug duets and ballads. he was a sexy balladeer really! i don't know where it all went wrong really. he had it all! when 50 cent did that piss take with him rapping all over michelle branch's 'everywhere' - that was kind of hot! i would have d/led that shit!

anyway, this is very cute. busta shouldn't have chopped his hair off, but he's still quite fit. he must be really old now. scenario was about a million years ago. i hate how the radio version has busta saying, 'i love my chick' - i fucking hate the word chick. at nando's the girls wear t-shirts that say 'chicks rule!' which is kind of cute but busta does not work at nandos.'

5) cassie - me & u busting out on kiss and 1xtra at last, r1 probably gonna a-list it before uk release next month. have heard a disproportionately large number of people playing it in houses and cars!

still sounds like preposterous youtube featured column hogger ryan leslie going against all his rnb instincts, pinpointing some icy 80s ideal for the sake of giving cassie a edgy freakout first single, and fair enuff! this is a hot edgy freakout first single, its been around 4ever but can still make you stop and say wtf/whistle the intro flute/remember the ultra-sleazy og video you saw on some blog/do a dance.

songs which might make the top five if they hadnt been around for 60 years:

ne yo - sexy love (just one touch... and i erupt like a volcano... and cover her with my love yeaahhhhh still got it)
pcd / snoop - buttons (no one's ever gonna talk about this or articulate their love for it but best believe everyone's listening to it!)
ti - why u wanna (some days kind of boring, some days kind of the best rap ballad since erm "i love my chick"... no i mean "21 questions")

songs which remain 4ever pony:

justin timberlake - sexyback (hot live versh of "like i love u" on radio 1 tho)
lupe fiasco / jill scott - daydream (foul nonsense!!!!)

songs which wont get played in peacocks:

fish go deep / tracy k - the cure and the cause
wipe out riddim
deep side / r kelly - lets make love
pinchers - the enemies
lil o / chamillionaire - its hard not 2 think about u
