chris brown - yo

remember when chris sang 'i can definitely show you things / that's gonna have you sayin i can't be sixteen'? come on it was about five minutes ago! every new song i hear, cb's enunciation becomes more and more haphazardly mushmouth like he is striving towards aching wordless communication; just a few tr's and st's away from madness. like a channel u ad break dancing bear (:-() mouthing 'i wanna be where you are' instead of 'help meeee'. run free my beautiful chris brown bear!

anywho! "yo" describes (mushmouthedly) an intense first moment of contact at a dance, but with so many signifiers of gentle reminiscense (ooh warm bubbling bass chords, hints of organ, kinda annoying rimshot snare sound, backing vocals for miles) it is more like 116-year-old chris looking back on his youth with a rascally twinkle. it is pretty autumnal music to share with a loved one.

(can be found on dj l/suss one's youngnsexy #11 and latterly kay slay's rnb model edition pt2)
