flick from neighbours - "kiss kiss"
it's just like "hey baby" but with a slightly lamer chorus, and without a big stefani-like personality getting in the way of the beat; can the song have been produced since "hey baby"'s release? i am unsure. it's still pretty good, since the no doubt song is a fine and interesting template on which to base the next few years of cutting edge chart music. perhaps in fact this is all post-"get ur freak on" music, as it sounds like the very idea of kick on 1 and 3 and snare on 2 and 4 is becoming outdated in this new style - the only thing that worries me is that they're trying to push us too hard with all these fx tricks, all the sudden silences and jerking pulses and hyper-real stereo phased moans. it's fun but it's also tiring for the senses; i wasn't hearing this in a club after ingesting huge numbers of mitsubishis (where is the club that will play flick from neighbours anyway?) - i was on a bus on my way to the shops and it was freaking me out!
